<soapbox>Mind if I point out that it is good practice to always prefix shell scripts with the appropriate hashbang line, "#!/bin/sh" if it is really within the confines of POSIX shell syntax or "#!/bin/bash" if the script is assumed bash specific.

@KenyonGeetings, from the upper right of your screenshot, you’ve unzipped the dat file to Downloads, not to the base of your home directory. The terminal starts in your home directory, so you can either change directory to it (so your commands are relative to Downloads) by doing cd Downloads then running the move command above, or adding that part of the path and doing mv Downloadshiscore.

According to that article calling /bin/bash directly instead of /bin/sh will; correctly use bash instead of dash so that should not be an issue as I understand it. I can still move the shebang of course, but that doesn’t really explain as to why it works when you don’t sudo.

Had similar problems just now and these are two separate instances and solutions that worked for me: Case 1. Basically, had a space after the last command within my newline-separated for-loop, eg. (imagining that | here represents the carat in a text editor showing where you are writing), this is what I saw when clicking around the end of the line of the last command in the loop:
